The Village Hall

WELCOME TO WHISSONSETT VILLAGE HALL

Whissonsett Village Hall is a building rebuilt by the local community from the foundations of the old pottery barn on land donated by the Stangroom family in 1940’s. Apart from the covid epidemic, the village hall has never closed since
opening.

We have had a voluntary committee, who’s great work has helped us complete many projects, including an excellent wooden dancing floor, lovely wooden stage, kitchen extension and refit, new windows, a new roof, hot water and new boiler, various re-decorations, each time improving the facilities for the local people to enjoy.

Although most people’s time and muscles have been donated, we do find we need to get the professionals in for your safety, Fire and Smoke Alarms, electrics, plumbing etc.

We are funded by the events run by volunteers, use by local clubs, private hires, donations and, if we are lucky, grants towards the big projects.

Our next big project is to replace the wooden doors with new PVC doors for the exterior, we should then be nice and cosy for next winter!

To continue to safeguard Whissonsett Village Hall for the next generation we do need to increase our prices.

  • Hire of the main hall - Not including the kitchen - £12 per hour

  • Hire of Hall and Kitchen - £15 per hour
